FAVRE or FARVE?

I realize that probably not one other person really cares how Bret's name is pronounced, but it has always bothered me how his name continues to be slaughtered by almost everyone.

Just because John Madden, who started the whole thing, is inarticulate and has some lazy speech patternsj, doesn't make misspronouncing his name proper. Let me spell it for you:

F-A-V-R-E is pronounced FAV-RE.....not FAR-V. His name is of FRENCH derivation, and should be pronounced as such.

I have an idea....why don't one of the NFL commentators ASK him how he pronounces his own name.

Yeah, yeah...I know....WHO Cares...RIGHT?
