Tom Brady believes former division rival will be next QB to win first Super Bowl

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen only crossed paths with Tom Brady five times before Brady called it a career following the 2022 season.

And though Allen was 0-5 in those games against the seven-time Super Bowl champion, Brady believes out of all the quarterback who haven’t won a Super Bowl championship yet, Allen will be the one to get his ring first.

“I like Josh Allen a lot,” Brady said on the “DeepCut Podcast.” “I'd pick Josh. I like Josh a lot as a guy, as a leader. But you know, he's got to get past the Chiefs and that's hard because Patrick (Mahomes is) incredible in the way he leads that team.”

To Brady’s point, the Chiefs seem to be the one obstacle always standing in the Bills’ way of reaching a Super Bowl.

Kansas City has eliminated Buffalo from the postseason in three of the last four years – twice in the AFC divisional round and once in the AFC Championship game – and the Bills are 3-4 against the Chiefs since Allen became their starting quarterback in 2018.

None of those three wins have come in the playoffs.

In fact, the Chiefs have gotten under Buffalo’s skin so much that they were the one team that was banned from trading for star receiver Stefon Diggs, who eventually landed in Houston with the Texans.

During the course of his six-year career, Allen has made two Pro Bowls, been named a second team All-Pro and played in one AFC Championship game back in 2020. Buffalo lost that game 38-24 to the Chiefs, who went on to get blown out 31-9 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Brady, who was named MVP of Super Bowl LV.
