Another day, another goal in the 2024 IIHF World Championship for Connor Bedard. The Chicago Blackhawks' phenom forward scored his fifth goal of the tournament to help Canada notch a 7-6 overtime win over Austria on Tuesday.
Canada's superior talent was on full display early as it built a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.
In the second period, Jared McCann extended Canada's lead to three before Bedard tallied from near the goal line to make it 5-1.

While it appeared to be a stat-stuffer at the time, Bedard's goal proved to be vital as Canada endured a sluggish third period. Several defensive lapses led to Austria scoring five goals and forcing overtime.
However, team captain John Tavares scored 15 seconds into the extra frame to give Canada a 7-6 win.
With Tuesday's tally, Bedard is tied with Finland's Oliver Kapanen for the 2024 IIHF Worlds lead in goals. Overall, Bedard has six points (five goals, one assist) in three games.
Bedard returns to action Thursday when Canada clashes with Norway at 1:20 PM CT.
